LSST Project Dome System - RAMS Analysis

LSST (Large Synoptic Survey Telescope) will be a wide field optic telescope quartered in a building, projected in order to ensure the maxim protection from atmospheric agents.

LSST will be able to observe the whole sky; thanks to the powerful camera which it is equipped, the telescope will provide high resolution images, which scientists from all over the world will be able to use in order to study the Universe.

Z Lab produced RAMS documents, that is Reliability Prediction, Risk Analysis, FMECA, Maintainability and Safety Analysis for the whole structure of the LSST project, in its design phase.

For the Reliability Prediction for mechanical parts, the NPRD-95 norm was used (Non Electronic Parts Reliability Data), whereas for the electronic parts, the MIL-HDBK-217F norms were used (Reliability Prediction of Electronic Equipment).

MIL-STD-882E is the norm for the Safety Analysis (System Safety Specifications).
